Consignment sale

Leave the sale of your vehicle to us.

We display it in our showroom, present it to buyers and handle viewings and negotiations, within a clear written framework.

Step by step

How it works

Support at every step.

01

Define your project

We review your vehicle and advise you on the price. The advertised price, the minimum accepted, the commission and the length of the mandate are set out in writing.

02

Prepare the handover

We draw up an inspection report with photos, mileage, keys and documents. Insurance and permitted uses are checked before the vehicle is handed over.

03

Present your car

We advertise it, answer enquiries and show it to serious buyers. You are kept informed of progress and consulted on any offer below your minimum.

04

Complete the sale

You sign the sale, unless a special written power of attorney says otherwise. The price is paid to you directly, unless separately authorised. Delivery takes place once the funds have been received and the agreed formalities completed.

The essential terms

Everything is set out before we start.

The contract states each party's commitments. We look for a buyer with due diligence, without guaranteeing the sale or how long it takes.

Duration

Three months by default

The duration is agreed in your contract. If no other duration or end date is given, the mandate lasts three months from signing. It ends without automatic renewal; any extension requires written agreement.

Exclusivity

A sale entrusted to Belgium Motors

During the mandate, you do not entrust the sale to another intermediary and do not publish a personal advert. You pass on to us any enquiries you receive directly. A direct sale may incur the fees or commission set out in the contract.

Sale price

Your agreement stays decisive

You set the initial price with our advice. An offer below the agreed minimum requires your written agreement. Any change to the advertised price or the net minimum is also confirmed in writing.

Remuneration

A commission agreed in advance

Its amount or calculation, the VAT and the total including VAT are stated before signing. It is due when the sale obtained by Belgium Motors is concluded and paid. No extra charge is added without written agreement, except in a legally justified emergency.

Before handing over

What to prepare.

A single part of the registration certificate is enough for the handover: you can keep the other. The more documents you give us on the vehicle's history, the more precisely we can inform buyers.

Tell us about any accidents, major repairs, modifications, foreign origin, registration difficulties or outstanding finance you are aware of. Say what you do not know.

  • One part of the registration certificate

  • Certificate of conformity, required at handover

  • Roadworthiness test and Car-Pass: optional at handover, if available

  • Service book, service and repair invoices and claim documents: every available item helps

  • At least one key to the vehicle

  • Accessories, wheels or winter kit, if included in the sale

Your questions

Understanding the terms of the consignment.

You can ask for your vehicle to be withdrawn permanently before the agreed end date. An early withdrawal fee of €250 excl. VAT, i.e. €302.50 incl. VAT (21% VAT) applies under the conditions set out in the contract.

Contact us to arrange the return of the vehicle and the closing of the mandate.

Let's talk about your sale.

Tell us the make, model, year and mileage of your car, and your asking price. A few photos will help us assess your request.
